Antibody PET, also called ImmunoPET, is a promising diagnostic technique which combines the high-sensitivity, high-resolution and quantitative analysis of positron emission tomography (PET)with the high-specificity of antibodies which aims to improve the efficiency of cancer diagnosis. ImmunoPET, similar to in-vivo accurate immunohistochemical staining, can label radionuclide onto antibodies by positron emission and carryon location imaging by PET scanner. In addition, PET can also quantified for the intermolecular interaction. In the individualized therapy of cancer patients, ImmunoPET can prove antibody targeting to tumor and quantitative analysis of antibody’s accumulation (uptake) in the tumor.
Positron isotopes can be used for the studies of the following molecules: antibodies, antibody fragments, Antibody-Drug Conjugates (ADCs), peptides, proteins and nanoparticles.
